UEE Mobile Subtation (Trailer-Mounted)

APPLICATION

Unit Electrical Engineering's speciality is the custom design and manufacture of electrical distribution equipment such as mobile substations.

In the past, their main use was in open-pit mining operations supplying electrical power to moveable equipment such as shovels, drills, and pumps. Recently, UEE has expanded it's mobile substation market to incorporate other industrial and commercial sectors requiring the supply and distribution of power.

UEE Mobile Substations are designed to suit customers' applications and is assembled on a flat deck trailer. A heated and ventilated switch house and a main transformer is installed to provide a completely self-contained substation which is delivered to site for immediate installation.

Above, a substation mounted on a standard two axle trailer features a 7.5MVA, 25/7.2kV transformer, incoming vacuum breaker and three 8kV vacuum breaker feeders. Five of these substations are in operation at 4200 meter elevation open-pit mine in Peru, South America. The above substation also incorporates UEE 8kV Cable Coupler System (click here to view more info).

Substations can also be compact, skid-mounted units, incorporating insulated, walk-in switch house and transformer with custom specification.
