MOTOR REWINDING, REPAIRS & SERVICE
UEE Motor Rewinding, Repairs & Service ...
(formerly Mikaelsen Electric Services Ltd., Vernon, BC)
is a medium sized, motor rewind shop located in Okanagan Falls,
British Columbia. Michaelsen was in operation for 25 years and
was purchased by Unit Electrical Engineering Ltd. in early 1995.
The shop facility is designed to repair and rewind motors up to
2000 HP. It is equipped with:

V.P.I. system,

IRD motor balancing and vibration analysis equipment,
-
machine tools,
-
large bake and burn-out ovens,
-
and a high voltage test panel (runs motors up to 4160
volts at full voltage.)

Apart from motor
repair, UEE Motor Rewinding Services is also a main distributor
for Brook Hansen. and Teco motors, the Western Canadian distributor
for Stancor industrial dewatering pumps, and a Beckley pump service
and warranty depot. Submersible pump repair and overhauling of all
types of industrial pumping systems are an important component of
the shop work.
UEE Motor Rewinding Shop works on all sizes of motors -- from 3000
HP at 4160 volt synchronous motors that require electrical overhaul
and mechanical repairs, to 2 HP single phase 50 cycle motors being
rewound to 60 cycle for local private customers. Working in conjunction
with UEE Ltd. and Elmont Electric Ltd., most of the used motors
for the Mt.Polley Project came through the original Mikaelsen Electric
shop for repair. They have also supplied approximately four dozen
new Brook Hansen motors up to 350 HP for the project.
UEE Motor Rewinding Services also maintains a large inventory of
used motors for use on a temporary basis and to supply to customers
that prefer used equipment.
